SMRT trains, bus services extended on X'mas eve

Revellers can continue to party till the wee hours this Christmas eve as SMRT is extending its train and bus operating hours.
On the North-South Line, the last northbound train will depart Marina Bay station at 1:20am while the last southbound train will leave Jurong East station at 02:01am.
On the East-West Line, the last eastbound train will head out from Joo Koon station at 12:59am while the last westbound train departs from Pasir Ris station at 1:08am.
The last Bukit Panjang LRT train service will be extended to match the last SMRT train service at Choa Chu Kang MRT station on Christmas eve. The last Bukit Panjang LRT train will depart Choa Chu Kang LRT station at 2.18am.
SMRT added that in the event that train services are unavailable due to unforeseen circumstances, commuters are advised to remain calm and:
a) Avoid moving to or crowding around in the vicinity of the affected station(s);
b) Walk to the nearest available station(s) or intended destination if feasible;
c) Proceed to the nearest bus stop, taxi stand or identified bus bridging point; and
d) Tune in to local news stations for updates if available
e) Follow closely the instructions of Police officers and SMRT staff to facilitate better human and vehicular traffic flow.
There will be 18 such trips running between 5pm and around 8:30pm each day. In addition, five “cross-line” direct train service that runs from Ang Mo Kio to Pasir Ris (via Jurong East) on weekday mornings will be removed from service to allow for better frequency of service for passengers boarding between Joo Koon and Chinese Garden.

SMRT will also be extending the operating hours of its bus services to match the last MRT train timing on Christmas Eve.Passengers can refer the station notice boards or this table for more details.In another statement, SMRT also announced that passengers will be able to use additional platforms - A and B - at Jurong East interchange station during the weekday evening peak hour from next Tuesday, 27 Dec.
On weekday mornings, the operating hours of the additional platform will be extended by an hour, from 7am to 10am.
“With the platforms operating on weekday evenings, SMRT will extend the current shuttle train trips plying between Jurong East and Yew Tee stations to Marsiling station,” said SMRT.There will be 18 such trips running between 5pm and around 8:30pm each day.
